Playstation VITA revealed

PSV Playing an Uncharted demo.
Just a few minutes ago, Sony officially revealed the successor to the Playststion Portable, the Playstation "Vita". Personally, I find that the name just doesn't seem to fit the Sony landscape, However I'm sure it's an intended move from sony.
A couple of rumors which have been floating around for the past few months have come to be confirmed, and there are several other features discussed at the e3 conference today.

Demonstrating touch capabilities and motion control.
Firstly, the PS VITA (as the logo appears to by stylized) will come in wifi and 3g options, like that of many tablets on the market today. It appears that sony has decided not to drift too far from the standards of technology and the core gaming market it encapsulates. The 3g option will be exclusively locked to at&t, like some other company.. decided to do..

It will use a Has a five-inch touchscreen OLED display, and uses dual analogue controls, along with the sixaxis gyroscope and other motion technologies.

The PSV should have various social networking options right from the start, using a system called 'near' and 'party'. Other online options will include cloud storage for game saves, etc, and has compatibility through this to the PS3.

By the looks of things, It appears that numerous developers are already on board, and (obviously) there are various third-party titles in the works such as Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, and Wipeout.

The wifi only version will cost $250 USD, €249 EUR, and ¥24,980 JPY
The 3g version will cost $300 USD, €300 EUR, and ¥29,980 JPY, which seems very competitive in comparison to the 3DS, although I would assume they will leave any price drop for much later on.
